Description
Here we have our MGF for reluctant sale.
She is a lovely car and is ready to go for summer. Would jump in her today and drive to Scotland and back with out any worries
She has been garaged for most of her life by the previous owners and as such there is no rust issues what so ever (apart from tiny stone chip on the bonnet).
Mechanically the car is fine. It has had the uprated head gasket fitted at 27k, with the head being skimmed and the water pump and cam belt all being replaced at the same time. Have the receipt for £1600. Also has had new headlights (common problem with the insides of old ones failing) Service book stamped up to 36k with various receipts Before and since then.
The MOT just advised front discs slightly worn and the outer skin on the exhaust has started corroding. Both are fine for now and I have priced the car with these is mind.
The only other advisory was an oil leak, which she HAS NOT got. The day she went for MOT, it was a very wet day, with puddles across the road in our village and the underside of the car was soaking wet from the water.
She comes with a black hard top which has a glass, heated and tinted rear screen, which takes 2 mins to fit and is in excellent condition and means the car can be used comfortably all year round. The last picture is of the car with the hard top on. The picture was take last month when I went to the local garage to have the car raised to the correct height on its air suspension. The previous owner preferred it lower, but its a lot more user friendly now, with speed bumps ect.
Cosmetically the bodywork dose have a few small dings here and there and some light scratches that will polish out. The drivers seat has some slight wear from getting in and out, as usual for an MGF. The gear stick gator is a bit tatty, but are only £10 on Ebay But she still looks good for a 20 year old car.
The soft top has a couple of nicks in it, but is watertight and works fine. The car is dry as a bone inside. The rear window has been replaced a few years ago and is clear. The zip works perfectly, which means you can lay the window flat before putting the roof down, Which stops it getting creased and cracking.
Tyres are like new all round and the spare has never been used.
She is insured and taxed, so any test drive is welcomed. She is insured with Footman James classic car policy £180 a year.
Gutted to be selling it. But its just too small with the dog we have now. I was hoping he would sit on the floor in front of the passenger seat, but he won't have it and sits on the seat ( only been in it a couple of times) and if both me and my partner go out, that means he is on your lap, he is too big to be a lapdog, so we end up taking him out in our Tourer as he comes most places with us. So am looking to buy a 4 seat (or 2+2) convertible.
2 keys. Log book in our name and address.
