Attractive vintage mahogany twin pedestal writing desk.
A lovely vintage mahogany twin pedestal desk. We date this desk to the second half of the 20th century.
The desk comes in three sections: the two end pedestals and the table top.
The two end pedestals each sit on a slightly protruding plain plinth base.
The right hand pedestal is fitted with two drawers above a deep double storage drawer, and the left hand pedestal is fitted with four drawers. The drawers are fitted with swan neck drop handles mounted on circular brass back plates.
The drawers are fitted with locks (key supplied).
The table top has a green tooled & gilded leather insert.
The desk has a height of 29.5" (75cm), a width of 54" (138cm) and a depth of 30" (77cm).
This attractive vintage mahogany twin pedestal desk remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some wear and indentations to the finish and the leather/gilding at the front edge where someone has sat in the past. There is also a small area of wear to the finish at the rear of the top surface. There is a small repair to the moulding on the front left hand side of the desk.
This remains a very stylish and elegant vintage mahogany twin pedestal desk ideal for the office or study etc. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
