Reluctantly for sale is my Mercedes 190E. I bought the car with the intention of creating what would be an even nicer 190E Variant. The reason behind the sale is trying to amass funds to aid setting up my own business and I will be buying a small runaround diesel to get me from A to B.
During the time I have owned her, she has been serviced meticulously with two full industry standard major services and an additional 3 oil and filter changes performed between every 4000 to 6000 miles. She currently has around 8 months MOT.
Repairs during my ownership include a brand new water pump fitted approximately 6 months ago and a new auxiliary belt tensioner.. When I bought the car there was noted damage to two of the wheels on a previous MOT advisory from before my ownership however I had this repaired professionally by a local wheel refurbishment outlet at a cost of over £100. The offside front jacking point was damaged by myself whilst dealing with a puncture (Again a recognised issue). I thought nothing of it until it failed an MOT on corrosion to the body (in my eyes completely unjustified) which has since been professionally repaired to meet requirements.
The bodywork is generally in very good condition especially baring in mind the age of the vehicle, soon to be officially a classic car an therefore tax exempt. To my taste, she sits on an incredibly rare set of OZ Five Spoke Borbet Style Alloys which I challenge anyone to find another set of let alone for a 190E. I have been led to believe they are worth in the region of £400 - £500 alone. For the most part I have run her on only premium unleaded fuel although there has been a couple of occasions where I have had to use the standard octane.
The bumpers have been resprayed from the original dull plastic to a beautiful gloss black with gold flake added to the mix, again to my taste. This is complemented with a gold boot grab handle. She also features the unusual but stunning gold exterior window and roof trim which is absolutely stunning and compliments the Midnight Blue paintwork beautifully. The electric sunroof works and slides along the runners smoothly. Inside the engine bay is very tidy.
The interior is remarkably good for the age of the car. The cockpit surround is a subtle and complimentary flat black which continues from the A, B and C pillars of the vehicle. Scarcely seen and matches the grey beautifully. Included in the sale is a fully functioning Aguri GT430 SatNav Dashcam and pratically brand new JVC stereo with aux input, usb etc. Other features include the usual height adjustable seats, front electric windows, electric passenger mirror. All lights work as should both interior and exterior. Also features the original first aid box, original warning triangle, original spare wheel and original bottle jack. The exhaust system is a full DTM system apart from the two downpipes which both have no cats. Removed as it is pre-cat era and still flew through the MOT.
As for the negatives, she requires two new door cards for the rear, unfortunately they weren't present when I bought the car and it wasn't high on my agenda. There is also a hole on the offside front door card around where your elbow sits however is more than acceptable as it is, never bothered me. There is slight deterioration of paint to the corner of the bonnet but is only really noticeable upon close inspection. She will need a new aerial if you plan on listening to the radio, the motor is completely functional as you can hear it working when the radio is turned off and on. This was pulled off by someone who thought the car looked better without it fortunately causing no other damage in the process. The original chrome grill has been sprayed over in silver as the original was in dire shape when I bought the car. I did intend to buy a replacement. Also not a bad point for me but may be an avoidance for others, the car has been lowered 40/40 so she sits quite low.
To be honest I cannot really go into more detail without actually dealing face to face or over the phone. I am sure I have covered pretty much everything needed to be said and I will more than happily talk for hours on end about her and answer an questions to the best of my ability so please feel free to get in touch with any queries.
This car has been my absolute pride and joy and if I could have it any other way it wouldn't be going anywhere but reality prevails. I know what everything is worth, although the high mileage she doesn't miss a beat and drives like a dream and I refuse to give her away unnecessarily. Since my ownership there really hasn't been any expense spared. Please don't contact me with with stupid offers as I won't justify them with a response as I have dealt with the usual time wasters which plague the net. If you are serious, get in touch and we can arrange a viewing with pleasure. If you intend to complete the work to get her looking five star, door cards are around the £30 mark each, aerial is around £27, grille around £50. I have used whats available on Ebay currently as an estimate.
I am also throwing a box full of spare parts including new heater matrix, second hand radiator, various hoses, ht leads, previous cd players and many other various bits and bobs. Alone worth over £150. See Pictures for an accurate idea of whats in the box!
